Each night, guests and volunteers come together around a family-style meal, sharing conversation and connection in a warm and supportive environment.
This ministry goes beyond basic needs—we create authentic community through our shared covenant agreement. Each volunteer and each guest signs a covenant that outlines expectations and guidelines.
Known as Divine Intervention, this vital program operates entirely through private donations from churches, organizations, and caring individuals who believe in our mission.
We welcome you to serve alongside us! Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our neighbors.

Thank you for Warming Hearts this Winter
Thank you to all of the volunteers, sponsors, donors, faith communities, and nonprofit partners who collaborated with Divine Intervention and supported guests in a caring, compassionate way. As a "Matthew 25 church" we welcome the stranger and care for those who are hungry and unsheltered.
Planning for the 2026 Divine Intervention session is already underway. As we are an entirely privately funded space for our guests, your support helps us plan for next year's ministry and beyond. Please consider a sponsorship. We are available to meet with you to talk about serving alongside us in this mission. When you work alongside Tippe, this vital ministry "counts" as YOUR mission, too!
Contact Rev. Trish Eckert or the Tippe Team to discuss opportunities.

It is so important to us that you are warm and safe this winter - and we accept guests who have been referred to us through Milwaukee's coordinated entry system.
Referred guests arrive between 6 - 6:30 pm at 125 W. Saveland and engage in the check-in process, including signing a covenant that ensures safety and supports community. We'll eat dinner together and take turns washing dishes. There are puzzles and board games, as well as tv, in the parlor before lights out at 10:00pm. Wake up to coffee and make yourself breakfast. We'll all pack up and clean up together before we head out for the day at 8:00am. Many of our guests remain with us throughout the warming season, while accessing housing support. |

I come back to Tippe because it's a safe and judgement-free zone and it feels like a real community. - DI Guest |

Getting Started as a DI Volunteer
All volunteers must attend a brief training session where you'll learn about our mission, procedures, and how to best support our guests. After training, you'll gain access to our online volunteer hub where you can sign up for shifts that fit your schedule.
Whether you can give a few hours or an overnight, your time makes a profound impact. Together, we're not just providing shelter—we're building community and restoring hope.
